Are retro PNGs safe to print on dark fabric?

Only if the file keeps a real alpha channel. Flattened files carry a white halo that shows up the moment the shirt is not white.

What resolution do I need for a tee?

300 dpi at the printed size. For an A3 front print that means roughly 3500 px on the long edge, not a scaled-up 1000 px file.

Can I sell products made with these files?

Most bundles allow it up to a print run limit. The limit lives in the licence, not the product page, so read it before the first order.

Why does my grain disappear in print?

Grain built from very light greys falls below the press threshold. Push the darkest grain step to about 20% and it survives.

Do vintage frames work at poster size?

They do when the line weight was drawn thick. Anything under a hairline at A3 breaks apart on paper.

Which file format should I keep?

Keep the layered source and export a flat PNG per project. The source is what lets you fix a colour after the first test print.
